Background of Director:
Statement
from Mr. Innocent Isaac Ouma.
I was born in 1969 in the eastern part of Uganda. I
grew as an orphan b
ecause our mother abandoned us and disappeared from us.
She left me with 5 brothers and 3 sisters to care for.
When I was 21 years old, with a strong background in
the Catholic faith, I went and joined the Word & Spirit Seminary where I
did my first diploma in Theology and a certificate in children’s ministry. In
the 1993 I felt a call to the Ministry, orphans and HIV/AIDS work. In the year
1994, I was appointed as Minister/General Secretary of Assembly of Pentecostal
Assembly of God Churches in Bukoli Areas of Uganda. In 1994 to 1996 I served as
a primary teacher. In 1995 to 1999 I worked with Butiiki Orphans Care
Organization, The AIDS Intervention Program (TAIP.)
In 2000, I started the organization called Message Of
Hope Ministries. I also worked as coordinator of Global Crossroads
International; I was the coordinator for Uganda for three years. At present, I
am Executive Director of Message Of Hope Ministries (MOHM) and The HIV/AIDS INTERVENTION NETWORK (THAINET). MOHM is a registered NGO, working with over
200 other NGO and CBO organizations in Uganda.
